Hello everyone, I'm facing some issues. Last week I checked my BIOS and the 12V rail on my motherboard was displaying 24V instead of 12V. The 5V rail was reading around 6V or higher. All the temperature sensors were giving incorrect readings, showing temps as low as 0°C or below 20°C, while my actual ambient temperature was near 30°C. My motherboard is an MSI MPG B550 GAMING EDGE WIFI, and it's already out of warranty. I don't have the option to return it via RMA. I've tried using other power supplies, but the problem persists. I unplugged everything, even the M.2 SSD, to rule out a short circuit. Still, the 12V is showing 24V. I've re-flashed the BIOS but the issue remains.
What model of PSU? I’ve had a similar issue with my p5q when using trash OEM PSUs—voltage rails shifting unexpectedly and readings going haywire. It seems either the PSU has problems or the board is malfunctioning, but I’m leaning toward the latter given the 24V reading. Consider updating the BIOS.
It's not just 12V, actually all the sensors are showing 5V. The Vdimm reads 1.66V and the Vcore is at 1.78V—most folks wouldn't expect that.
You're experiencing consistent readings on the 12V rail despite switching PSUs from Cooler Master. This could indicate a stable power supply issue or a problem with the PSU itself.
the system starts normally but experiences intermittent shutdowns daily. adjusting the voltage manually didn't resolve the issue, and the display voltage remains between 1.6 and 1.8 volts.
I test the motherboard with a multimeter and see the 12V rail at about 12.3V at the 24-pin connector, while the CPU power side reads around 13V. I plan to contact MSDI later if issues persist.
