Bios Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15ADA05 became damaged following a BIOS update.
It is very unlikely that there is a dual bios switch on the laptop. BIOS updates always come with risks, I bricked my old laptop when HP pushed a bad BIOS and it being HP, I was overnighted an envelope with an overnight air label and it was back to me in about a 36hr turnaround from me sending to me receiving it back. And because they pushed the bad update it was covered under warranty.
Symptoms The system fails to restart following a BIOS update. Possible fixes include performing a power-down: disconnect power and remove external peripherals. If removable, take out the battery. For laptops with a removable battery, apply the pin-hole reset method. Devices with internal batteries often feature an emergency pin-hole reset button located on the bottom cover (refer to the emergency-reset hole in the User Guide for details). For guidance on obtaining the User Guide, consult instructions for Lenovo ThinkPad, ThinkCentre, Ideapad, and Ideacentre models.
Solutions Try a power-down sequence: unplug power source and disconnect all external devices. Remove battery if possible. On laptops with an internal battery, use the pin-hole reset. Some models include a dedicated emergency pin-hole reset button on the bottom cover (see emergency-reset hole in the User Guide).
Laptop Reset Steps For Ideapads:
- Use a straightened paper clip inside the reset hole to restart.
- On other laptops, press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds.
- Certain Ideapads have a Novo button that accesses BIOS or recovery mode.
