Bios Legacy to UEFI
Bios Legacy to UEFI
Hello,
I'm working to satisfy the criteria for upgrading to Windows 11 and discovered I must enable safe boot. This process has taken me through several steps to adjust the system settings. My BIOS remains legacy and requires UEFI support. I can achieve this with MBR2GPT, though it currently allows only up to three partitions at once (based on its current format). I located the recovery package in the last partition (4) via 'reagentc /info'. It seems removing the first partition might be a viable solution. Would it be worthwhile to proceed with that approach?
Thank you!
If the drive is presently running MBR, you must change it to GPT to turn off CSM/activate UEFI, a process this tool is designed for. Are you certain the disk is indeed using MBR? That usually restricts it to three partitions, which likely isn't the setup you're dealing with.
