I recently upgraded my CPU to a 5800x 3D with the latest BIOS (Fb66). When trying to adjust under-voltage, I noticed my voltage controls were missing. The only change available was the "DRAM voltage" option, not the expected "Dynamic Vcore(DVID)". Checking similar boards showed this setting existed on many. I reset the CMOS and adjusted BIOS settings without success. I'm still looking for a way to access these missing options. Please let me know if you have any ideas or solutions. I've attached a picture of my current voltage settings.
The 5800x3D chips are secured. Both voltage and speed are restricted due to their sensitivity to heat and voltage. My basic grasp of motherboard choices is that most boards function similarly and don’t support adjustments. It seems Asus motherboards might permit undervolting, as mentioned in this discussion. They suggest certain software tools for this purpose.
It seems the installation settings were turned off because of your concerns. I discovered a solution by setting up the PBO2 tuner in Windows to automatically adjust the voltage curve during login. Thanks for your guidance.
They usually don’t adjust the voltage on the 5800x3D, which is why. If you’re into this unusual custom build, it’s probably because you got the wrong CPU. Yeah, that’s how it goes for this model... it doesn’t officially back PBO.
A few boards support this feature, though you might also need the correct BIOS version. On my setup I can adjust everything, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Plus, PBO remains concealed... it shows up automatically once I install the 3600 model.
