BIOS isn't setting up to my SSD with Windows. Only fixes Boot and minor problems are possible.
So essentially, I'm assembling a computer for a friend and this is my first experience with building one. I'm running into issues with the BIOS/Windows setup. When I open the PC, Windows won<|pad|>'s start up, but I have to press DEL repeatedly to enter BIOS and change the boot order to my SSD. Even though I told BIOS to automatically switch to the SSD, it still doesn't work. I also struggled to get Windows installed on the SSD. I used a USB drive to download Windows, but it refused to install Windows 11 because my hardware didn't meet the minimum requirements. I thought it was a simple matter, but the computer would crash after a short time and didn't recognize my hard drive or any audio output, even though the monitor had speakers and headphones were connected. Interestingly, the drive was detected when I first turned on the PC but failed afterward. I suspect there might be a power issue, so I'm planning to test the drive with my PSU. I'm hoping someone can help me resolve this so I can fix it myself. Thanks in advance for your assistance!
Here are some points to consider:
- Lack of W11 compliance means fTPM isn't active.
- Using LPX with Ryzen may cause instability and crashes—this isn't always reliable.
- Set boot sequence to boot manager first, then the SSD, which helped resolve my issue.
- Possible driver problems might be causing the crashes; reinstalling drivers could help.
- When a BSOD occurs, check the error code and message in the error window.
- HDDay needs to be initialized in Windows; reattaching both SATA cables can still be beneficial.
I experienced a comparable issue... adjusting the "BBS boot order" in BIOS resolved it (other options didn't). If you have that or a similar configuration, try it (it's not the typical boot order setting).
