BIOS(???) froze
BIOS(???) froze
Hey everyone, I’m facing a problem where my PC sometimes freezes during startup. Usually it happens when I restart, showing a black screen with a line at the top left—like a terminal. Now it’s the first time I see the motherboard logo on that screen. This seems serious, but maybe it can be fixed by removing the CMOS battery and reinserting it?
It could be that I made an error during the OC process, or perhaps I used something I wasn’t aware was active. Or maybe there was a faulty BIOS. It’s an MSI PRO B550 P GEN3, but I’ll give it a try and check.
If clearing the CMOS doesn't fix the problem, consider updating your BIOS on the motherboard. Even if you already have the newest BIOS installed, it might resolve the issue. It seems like a hardware concern, but you could also check the power supply unit as it can sometimes cause similar problems.
I already have the newest bios, I’ll check how it performs. The thing that caught my attention was the issue since the PC doesn’t have much time. I built it in November 2022... it would be odd if there’s a PSU problem, though I’m not sure if it usually happens. My PSU is a NoX Urano 650W.
the os is set up on your ssd m2 while you have another hdd, but you need to adjust the settings so it works properly.
the only issue i noticed is disc 0 being connected to the hdd instead of the ssd, which was the first device i set up
The black screen with a white underscore appears when the system lacks access to storage or OS. Diskmgmt isn't related to this issue. Slots, cables, and drives are involved. You can assess drive health using tools like Hard Disk Sentinel.
