I'm checking out the Ryzen 7 5800X and a B550 motherboard. The board I found is the MSI PRO B550M-P GEN3, and the PC parts list says no BIOS update is needed after buying. But I'm not feeling too confident about that, anyone knows if this setup works?

According to the MSI BIOS update page, the initial BIOS for this board is compatible with 5800X3D. You should be fine.

This board is quite outdated, don't you think there are better options out there?

The -A line in MSI Pro offers reliable boards, but this isn't among them. Are you purchasing in the US? The B550 Pro4 by Asrock is a much more affordable alternative, nearly half the price.

Estonia is essentially the most affordable option. Upon checking an A-Asock board, it mentioned the bios aren't compatible.

I discovered a GIGABYTE B550M K model and wanted to know if it's reliable.
