BIOS doesn't recognize RAM, but...
I own a 2GB DDR3 stick of RAM. When installed by itself on a suitable board, nothing shows up nor does there beep. However, adding another stick works—system boots but only the first stick is recognized by BIOS and OS. When using CPU Z with a 4GB stick alongside the 2GB one, the 2GB appears but shows minimal details on CPU Z. It hasn’t been used much since it was stored in its original case to prevent harm. What might have happened?
@turquato Experienced the same issue—occurs when switching RAM in dual-channel mode and attempting to use a different RAM slot.
