BIOS doesn't detect RTX 4070 Ti.
I have mostly heard that this is for the 4080 and the 4090 because they draw substantially more power from PSU, which is also why I went with the 4070 Ti, as the TDP is at 285W which is way lower than the RTX 4080 at 320W and the RTX 4090 at 450W I am right now awaiting a day where I have time to pick everything apart and test the computer piece by piece, to identify if there is any other faulty hardware.
Same problem with the same setup; my rig barely powers on at all with the 4070 ti (MSI Ventius). I upgraded from the 2060 and everything works now. At first I suspected the PSU was faulty, but after swapping it with a 2060 and using an older 760, it functioned perfectly with my 4 SSDs, one HDD, and a M.2 slot setup. Even after turning off all fans, RGB lights, and storage devices, power remained absent. I’m testing a new 1000W gold PSU tonight to check if the old one is failing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I've checked for updates and found the same problem with my MSI 4070 Ti. The BIOS isn't recognizing the GPU, and I've made several changes—switched PSU to a 1k platinum, upgraded the motherboard from Z690 to Z790, moved from a 4090 to a 3090 Ti. Previously, I thought the card was faulty and returned it, but now I'm back with the 4070 Ti after some upgrades. My friend is letting me test a 3090 Ti, which works fine. I'm planning to send back my Z790 board for an ASRock unit, expected by Thursday. I tried disconnecting the power cable and using older connectors, which helped resolve the issue.
Same problem here. Running with these components: Mobo Z690, UD Gigabyte CPU, Intel Core 5 12600k, 2x16GB RAM, Corsair 850 watt PSU, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti X3, 1TB Firecuda. The odd part is the GPU only works in the PCIe 16x4 slot, not 16x16. It powers on and spins the fan but isn’t recognized in BIOS—super weird. I changed the PCIe 16x16 to gen 3 in BIOS but nothing happened. Spent hours trying, still stuck. Got any suggestions?
Having the same problem again. Just purchased a CyberPower PC with a Gigabyte 4070 TI. I can't do anything with it until I unplug it, boot Windows, and then shut it down before plugging it back in. Even after that, it appears in Device Manager but when trying to install GeForce Experience it doesn't actually install properly, even though it seems to finish. DxDiag only displays the built-in AMD graphics. This is really frustrating.
You managed to fix the problem by changing your power supply. Initially, you upgraded to an ASUS Thor 1kW unit that supports the ATX 3.0 PCIe 5.0 12VHPWR connection. This worked with your RTX 3090 Ti but not with the newer RTX 40 series cards. By switching to a setup using two 8-pin connectors plus the included adapter, the issue disappeared. You confirmed the PSU had the correct headers and checked all cables, so it’s likely the connection method was the key.
I've set up a new system with these details: Mobo model Asus Rog Strix B660, CPU 12600K, 32GB RAM, Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz, PSU Corsair RM850x 2021, GPU Zotac 4070ti Trinity OC. The motherboard displays a greenish-yellow light indicating a boot drive error only when the GPU is connected for power. Booting works fine once the GPU is plugged in and power cables are attached. Using different PCIe cables or trying Gen 4/Gen 3 slots hasn't resolved the issue. Any other suggestions?
I understand you're stuck in the same situation. Let's figure it out together.
