Bios does not list bootable drives, yet displays storage options.
Set up a new ASUS Prime Z690-A motherboard featuring DDR5 RAM and a PSU. Replaced the SSDs that were previously wiped, intending to run a fresh Windows installation from USB. The board doesn’t list bootable devices despite showing storage drives; I’ve tried all possible settings—CMS, Legacy mode, UEFI—and nothing works. The USB detects Windows, but the install process fails to recognize any devices. I’m unsure what’s going on and feel completely confused.
Turn off CSM, as well. Is RAID active? If yes, you must have the Intel RST Driver installed before the Windows installer can recognize any arrays. Otherwise, turn off RAID settings in the BIOS.
It seems RAID is likely active, as the image displays RAID and lists storage options. I haven’t found any instructions to turn it off. Installing Intel RST would probably require adding it via USB and configuring it in the BIOS.
I handle my AMD RAID by downloading the driver, which consists of three folders. I place them onto a Windows USB drive, creating a layout similar to this. When prompted during the Windows installation screen, I select "load drivers" and enter the NVMe folder to install the three drivers. In your advanced BIOS settings, navigate to the advanced tab and find the SATA section where you can turn RAID on or off for both SATA and NVMe connections.
