I installed OC Genie on an MSI sli krait edition board (Z97S). My CPU is an Intel i7 -4790k. The BIOS shows 4.40 GHz, but it doesn't appear in CPU-Z or Windows.

On your desktop and if the CPU isn't operating at full capacity, it will slow down to conserve energy. Perform a CPU stress test afterward and observe the results. If the issue persists, remove the software and reinstall CPU-Z from a different source.
