I’m switching from the Ryzen 5 3600 to the Ryzen 5 5600X. My setup uses MSI B450 gaming pro Carbon AC with BIOS version 9/1/2022. The 3600 was installed via USB, and I’m running Windows 10 on a 1TB M.2 SSD. When I boot with the 5600X it jumps straight into BIOS and sees the M.2 slot listed under system status, but in the boot menu it’s locked to UEFI and doesn’t show an M.2 option. I don’t have any other drives connected.
I updated the BIOS on the 3600 last night and chose the SSD, booting into Windows without issues. I plan to replace the 5600X and reinstall the 3600 to test booting from the SSD.

It seems there might have been an issue with the Windows boot manager. Try connecting your Windows installation media (USB) and see if you can boot from it. In the troubleshooting menu, look for an option to repair the Windows boot manager. You might want to reinstall the 5600x if it works, otherwise, after a successful reinstall, you can perform a swap. If the problem persists, it could be due to a security issue—check if the system is frozen, as that would indicate another problem.
