Bios chip corrupted, flashback queries arise Questions about recovery and data retrieval
Hello everyone, I'm facing a problem because my power went out while updating the BIOS on a MSI B450 gaming plus motherboard. I don't know why the emergency power didn't activate and the PC shut down. My board includes the MSI BIOS Flashback feature, which allows flashing a BIOS without a CPU, GPU, or RAM installed. Should my board be completely unusable? Do I need to return it to MSI, or can I use the BIOS Flashback function on my board to update from an USB drive? Please help me.
It helps you regain control and in the end, it prevents things from getting worse.
Attempted twice after watching MSI's video, but it didn't work. The flashback feature would trigger three times before stopping. Realized my USB stick was in GPT format, so I reformatted it to MBR, added the BIOS, reflashed, and it worked. MSI should provide clearer instructions in their guides.
