I repeatedly encounter BIOS Code C7 and don’t understand its significance. The details aren’t listed in the Q-Code Table. Even more confusing, clearing CMOS or using a BIOS flashback doesn’t resolve the issue. I can adjust the BIOS settings as needed, but it still loops back to code C7. After some time, the system starts up normally with the POST beep and confirms the 8-Pin PCIe power cable is connected. This situation is puzzling. It’s a replacement board from ASUS, and I don’t have another Threadripper Pro CPU to rule out a hardware problem.
If you attempt to run at the default settings, it won't help much. A low-power warning (c7) could indicate an issue with the power supply unit, a faulty cable, or even a problem with the CPU or motherboard hardware. I might consider removing all PCIe cards, clearing CMOS, and trying again. This isn’t possible in Windows or the drive since you haven’t booted yet. If it works, the issue likely lies in the configuration settings or a faulty PCIe card. I only have this strange code to go on.

I'm not using Windows; I'm running Unraid. It appears one of the BIOS settings I modified might be responsible, but I don’t know why. I’ll have to adjust each setting individually until I identify the cause. This is my first time using this motherboard—I just purchased it from ASUS as a warranty replacement, so I hope it’s not the hardware itself. I tend to experience strange errors that no one seems to understand. LOL.
I cleared the CMOS and adjusted your settings. That suggests you might be able to access BIOS. I’m suggesting you stick with the original BIOS unless you’re certain about the changes. Try running Bone Stock; if it’s been tried before, that data could matter. If you manage to rewrite BIOS even with the same version, it might help. Do you have any special hardware connected, like a sound card? Those are less common these days.

The only PCIe devices I rely on are the ASUS Hyper X quad M.2 card that came with the motherboard, so I adjusted one of the BIOS settings to enable RAID mode (4x4x4x4). I also have a dual 10G SFP+ card because the built-in ports aren't functioning well with Unraid. Additionally, I use an HBA card for the ZFS HDDs. I didn't install a separate GPU since this board includes a VGA GPU chip.
I'm not relying on any physical hardware RAID setup. The term "ASUS calls 4x4x4x4 PCIe Bifurcation PCIe NVMe RAID" is confusing. To enable the Hyper M.2 quad NVMe card, you need to configure that slot to 4x4x4x4 mode. Currently, I'm encountering a C7 error.
Did you manage to solve this? My setup is an ASUS Pro SE WXR80E-SA WiFi 2 with a Threadripper 5975WX. I’m facing the same issue no matter what I try. I’ve bought two motherboards and two CPUs, but the error persists across all setups. The post code is 7C (not specified by ASUS) and there’s a solid yellow DRAM light. I’ve re-assembled everything multiple times, even disassembling it, but nothing works.
