Your new Asus TUF X570 looks solid, but updating the BIOS might still be worth considering for security and performance. Upgrading the chipset could be risky if not done carefully, so weigh the pros and cons before deciding.

Ensure everything works properly before updating the BIOS. If it functions well, avoid changes. Obtain the chipset from the motherboard manufacturer's site.

It's wise to refresh your bios periodically—every few months—and consider the latest version if you're worried about compatibility issues. The bios you received with your motherboard are probably only a short time old, so waiting isn't necessary.

What guideline do you follow? During my time online, updates only happened when there was a solid reason—like fixing security issues or preventing major failures.

In IT you usually dealt with OEM boards that rarely received regular (if any) BIOS updates. On aftermarket boards you’ll find many improvements such as enhanced memory compatibility, boosted system performance, and added CPU support. It really depends on the device and when or why the BIOS was updated.
