BIOS AHCI with Windows IDE installed
Hello. Your BIOS is set to AHCI, yet Windows continues to use IDE drivers. You've already attempted reinstalling the OS and switching to AHCI in safe mode, reset the BIOS, and toggle between IDE and AHCI. I'm unable to find a resolution. * I’m limited to using only SATA 2 with this motherboard. ** BIOS version: F6. Specifications: Motherboard: H61M-DS2H (rev 2.1); Windows 10; i3 3240 3.4GHz; SSD Sandisk 240GB; ASUS GTX 960 2GB; RAM Corsair 8GB. Would you consider installing a non-compatible AHCI driver manually via Device Manager? I fear this could cause boot issues and crashes. Please let me know if you need further guidance.*
In IDE mode, modify the 0 DWORD in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\storahci\StartOverride to 0. After rebooting, switch to AHCI in BIOS and restart. This process is applicable for Windows 10, though a different method exists for Windows 7.
