Upgraded; Mobo: Asus Prime X870-P Wifi Current Firmware: 0805 ------------------- I recently switched from Am4 to Am5 (new motherboard, CPU, DDR5 etc., plus a fresh Samsung m.2 1TB P9100 PCIe5). I already had Windows 11 set up on a USB drive. Started setup and picked Win11 Home. Chose the new drive, made a partition, and selected the drive with roughly 970GB free. The installation completed successfully. Turned off the PC, unplugged the bootable USB. However, it doesn’t start Windows. Reviewed BIOS options but found no detection of the new drive in the boot menu or any Boot Override settings. I’m aware the board recognizes the SSD since it shows “Samsung SSD 9100 PRO 1TB” in BIOS when accessing the main menu. I assumed this was a BIOS quirk, given the PCIe5 interface and recent hardware. I downloaded the BIOS from the official source, extracted it to a USB stick, and ran EZ Flash within BIOS (rollback support active). When trying to access the CAP file, it reported: “The selected file is not a valid BIOS file!” Remember, to revert BIOS to an older version using a CAP file, enable [BIOS Image Rollback Support] and press F10 to save before updating. I’m uncertain about the exact location in BIOS for this adjustment, but it seems to be near the boot configuration area.

I hadn't thought about it before. Now I'm doing it. The CAP file got renamed. From: PRIME-X870-P-ASUS-0816.CAP To: A5564.CAP. I pasted the updated file onto a USB drive. Used EZ Flash to transfer, and the message stayed consistent. I'm attempting sequential releases—after firmware 0805 came 0816, right?

USB supports FAT32 format, and the CAP file is located in the primary folder, not inside any subdirectory.

It's frustrating, PEBKAC. I was running the Firmware for just the "PRIME X870 P." There are countless versions of the X870-P, and I downloaded one for the "PRIME X870-P-WIFI-CSM" (my model). Now I'm updating the firmware, hoping it will make the M.2 PCIe5 slot discoverable in the boot options.
