Hi friends, little sister attempted to upgrade her GPU and PSU, but it didn’t work. She reached out for my help but still can’t solve the issue. She needs some advice to look cool for her little sister, lol.
Mobo: TUF gaming b550 plus
CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3500x
Old GPU: zotac gt gforce 1030 2gb
New GPU: gforce 3060
Old PSU: Corsair vs350
New PSU: Corsair cv550
In reality, with the old setup, the PC runs smoothly without any problems. However, when I connect the new PSU (also tried from my current machine - Corsair tx850), no display appears and the DRAM light turns solid orange.
I checked all connections and even removed the CMOS battery.
I went back to the old PSU (350) and everything works fine, but this one isn’t powerful enough for the new GPU.
I’m guessing I’m making a mistake, but I’m really stuck. Any suggestions would be super helpful, thanks!

Welcome to the forums, new member!
Previous PSU: Corsair vs350
Current PSU: Corsair cv550
Not really a big jump in quality, but you've managed to add a bit more power to the system.
Make sure all your connections to the components are properly tightened. With the older GPU and PSU, it might be worth checking into the BIOS and noting the motherboard's version. If there are any pending updates, apply them, then clear all GPU drivers using DDU and install the RTX 3060 in place of the old one. Ensure the GPU is securely seated in the PCIe slot.

Hi there,
Thanks for the kind words and support. I went through your advice, but the bios still look outdated and the drivers are cleared. The GPU seems to be properly seated, yet the issue continues.
It's odd—my old PSU with the old GPU works just fine, while the new PSU and old GPU both show DRAM as solid orange. With the new PSU and new GPU, everything is now solid orange.
I'm really open to any suggestions you might have, because I'm still stuck.
Thanks a lot for your help so far! 👍
