Big FPS drop in WoW
Big FPS drop in WoW
Hello, I own a PC with these specifications:
Motherboard: ASRock B560M-HDV
Processor: Intel Core i5-11400
RAM: 2x Patriot Memory 16GB DDR4 3600 Series
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060
Storage: 500GB GoodRam
Power supply: Vero L3 500W (SPC265)
A few years back, I played with a less powerful GPU and fewer RAM modules, and the game ran smoothly — otherwise, I just reduced settings and it worked. Now, with the new upgrade, performance is poor.
I’ve shared logs from MSI Afterburner during a 20-man raid in WoW, and my FPS sometimes drops from 130 to around 10–20.
Why does my CPU run at 90% but others at 10–20?
I’m thinking about upgrading the RTX or switching the CPU to an i5-14600.

Anyone noticing anything unusual here?
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! I’ve shared logs from MSI Afterburner during a 20-man raid in WoW, and my FPS sometimes drops from 130 to around 10-20. You might want to store your files on a service similar to DropBox and share a link for us to review. Regarding timing, could you describe the frame rates when the frame drops occur? For your platform, what is the age of your PSU and the BIOS version on your motherboard? If you're using Windows, consider running DDU in Safe Mode to uninstall all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia) and then manually install the newest driver from Nvidia's support site via an elevated command—right-click the installer and select Run as Administrator. I moved this thread from the Components section to the PC Gaming section.
I don't play other games, so I can't say how it performs overall.
I just use the PC for WoW and LoL occasionally.
I'm running Windows 10, and I also tried Windows 11 — same outcome.
I don’t recall the BIOS version I had, but I updated it together with the GPU drivers when the issue began.
Oh right, I forgot to share the link — my mistake.

This might be the cause since Nvidia suggests a power supply with a minimum of 550W. I should consider using a more powerful PSU initially, rather than making other adjustments.
I don't know anything about Endorfy, but a 700W rating should provide ample margin.
