Yeah, the advancement on Battlefield moves at a gentle pace, which isn't necessarily bad if BattleField had countless varied weapons, most of which don't matter much. I prefer a slower ramp-up, but I hope the developers stop trying to force players into a huge selection of guns instead of just offering a handful that really work.
In BF4 every weapon works well, but in BF3 the M16A3 is the only one that makes sense to use.
