Recently I purchased a new desktop capable of handling most games at very high or ultra settings in 1080P butter smooth. However, on Battlefield 1 it struggled to run them, and it would be surprising if my computer specs were the issue. What’s interesting is that switching to lower settings gives me around 40 FPS, then back to ultra still maintains about 40 FPS.

Motherboard: GA-H110M-S2H
Processor: Intel Core i5 7400 3ghz (stock cooler)
RAM: 8gb DDR4 at 2400mhz
Graphics Card: RX 580 Strix OC edition 8gb
Power Supply: Corsair RM650x 80+ gold certified
Storage: 1TB Seagate and 512 Samsung 860 Pro SSDs
Any advice?

Yes, that's the issue. The game has a CPU bottleneck.

I thought 8 gigabytes of RAM at 2400 MHz wouldn't be enough. Do you have any recommendations for cheaper RAM sticks?
