Identify challenges, I have specific expectations. Minor FPS fluctuations aren’t a big deal; I usually forget about the numbers but I don’t constantly watch them. Monte Grappa and Empire give poor outcomes, causing significant aiming issues.

I always suggest purchasing the top performance possible within your budget. Recent games are trending toward more cores and threads (like WD2, BF1, Witcher 3), and I regret not choosing a 5820k back then when I went with a 4790k. As others have mentioned, the 4790k remains a powerful CPU, but based on early DX12 scores and those games, I’d recommend X99 for anyone building a PC that needs to last several years. Of course, this is my perspective—I can’t be certain how games will evolve in the next two years. Still, I stand by my advice: Opt for the latest and fastest platform you can afford, ensuring it supports the newest expansions to maximize its lifespan. For SLI enthusiasts, prioritize the most powerful card you can buy, so you can upgrade later (like 2x 1070 versus a single 1080).

For gaming, the top option is z170a plus 6700k.
