Battlefield 1's behavior appears inconsistent depending on who's managing it. Some users, such as @Praesi, report smooth performance, while others, like yourself, experience significant issues. It seems lowering the settings might help balance CPU usage before making further adjustments.

Several users on the BF1 Forum reported a significant boost in performance after installing an additional 8GB of RAM. The outcome depends on your decision.

The minimum requirements for Battlefield 1 call for at least 8 GB of RAM, though 16 GB is suggested for better performance. Some test results indicate a small variation between these amounts, while others highlight a noticeable gap depending on the graphics settings used.

It's hard to pinpoint the exact reason for the drop, but I usually steer clear of long-range shooting since I'm not great at it. I don't think Battlefield 4 used tank rounds for that distance either—maybe it had something to do with how the weapon's rifling works? The Coriolis effect could play a role, though I'm not sure. If it does happen, it might be intentional. I'm okay with moving past the game's current flaws and just keep playing, since they seem to fix things like they did in BF3 and 4. I'd really appreciate hearing your side, but I have to admit the system requirements are pretty high—BF4 only needed 4GB, yet it still struggled. Even though I haven't seen this issue before, I'm open to it. And honestly, RAM is still affordable right now.

I've completed roughly 100 hours in the game so far, and while I haven't encountered every problem you mentioned, I agree with your concerns. The CPU usage feels quite high and inconsistent—most cores stay above 90%, but performance drops only occasionally. Restarting the app or changing servers usually fixes it, which points to optimization issues. It seems unrealistic for a game to need an overclocked $250 CPU to maintain steady 60 FPS. Looking at Steam's hardware data suggests many PC players would struggle much more with this title than I do.

I'll keep track of CPU and GPU usage and check if I encounter comparable outcomes. It does appear unusual. I'm curious about why recommendations point to an i7—most games will look quite alike, right? If it performs well on a console, it should translate to the PC as well.

It seems you're highlighting performance issues around high CPU usage and slow load times. The mention of needing more RAM in Multiplayer might be relevant, as it's often used for benchmarking. RAM utilization is typically stable in Sinai Desert at 70-80%, but using Singleplayer for consistent testing could help.

I generally allocate 7.9GB or higher from my 16GB storage for multiplayer sessions.

The idea is to add more logical processing units to ease the load and reduce the BF1 bottleneck, though in practice it often doesn’t make a noticeable difference. Based on my experience, even when an i7 helps slightly, it usually feels underwhelming here. I also have a strong aversion to suggesting expensive CPUs like $350+ as a quick fix for what seems like a glitch or optimization issue.
