I3 2100 with 6GB RAM DDR3 and a GTX 650 OC is a solid choice. Windows 8.1 runs well, and upgrading to 10 would likely offer noticeable performance gains.

Ten is significantly improved over eight. I personally didn’t like eight when it launched; now I favor 7 or 10 for Windows. Recently, I’ve been tending more toward 10 because it’s newer, and 7 is beginning to feel outdated.

A solid version such as LTSB without Cortana and similar features should work well. I’m planning to create a USB installer at that point.

Windows 10 should work just fine on older hardware with no driver problems, whether you have AMD or Intel systems. I also turned off all non-essential background tasks, so it should run smoothly on a standard HDD. Upgrading from a 120gb to a 250gb SSD will further improve your experience.

Windows 10 should function well on this device. I prefer Windows 10 over Windows 8 because its interface feels more modern and suitable for my taste. I also enjoy using Windows 7 since it runs smoothly and meets my requirements nicely.

Unless there have been updates in the newest Windows 10 release, I believed Cortana remains active rather than disabled. Only LTSB appears to be the version without Cortana, Microsoft Store, excessive bloatware, or ads. I also think LTSB offers the best balance and usability in Windows 10, avoiding frequent updates that disrupt settings and quietly increase clutter. Still, some steps are needed to remove most tracking features.

Keep Superfetch on, it enhances performance by storing frequently accessed files in RAM.
