Sure, I understand. Windows 8 offers improved performance, but it uses more memory than Windows 7. The RAM consumption tends to be higher on Windows 8 compared to Windows 7. There are alternatives available that let you use a Windows 7 interface in Windows 8, such as the Metro UI replacement tools.

Big performance boost? A few frames at best, I definitely wouldn't switch for the performance boost.

I suggest keeping the number at seven; the rise isn’t significant for eight, and there might be an edge once the new DirectX releases since it won’t function on seven.

I believe Microsoft confirmed that Windows 7 will fully support DirectX 12.
