Big performance boost? A few frames at best, I definitely wouldn't switch for the performance boost.

I suggest keeping the number at seven; the rise isn’t significant for eight, and there might be an edge once the new DirectX releases since it won’t function on seven.

I believe Microsoft confirmed that Windows 7 will fully support DirectX 12.
