Halo 2 is the one I really like. You might not own an original Xbox, but once MCC drops it on PC, grab it! Also, you should definitely play Halo CE, 2, and 3 instead.

The Mass Effect series, I actually enjoyed the third one a bit too much, which is generally seen as quite poor. Andromeda, on the other hand, isn't so much about the story but the gameplay is enjoyable.
