You're looking to boost performance on your current setup. With an i5-9600k and an MSI Z370-A Pro, adding more RAM can make a big difference. Given your Corsair AIO setup, you might want to consider upgrading to at least 16GB or more for smoother multitasking and gaming. The 8GB Crucial Ballistix is decent but may feel slow under heavier loads. If speed matters most, aim for a faster module like DDR4-3200 or higher, paired with a compatible CPU and motherboard. It’s definitely worth it if you plan to run demanding apps or games.

Ballistix Sport dimmers are available in various speeds, making it hard to pinpoint the exact model you own. It’s not an issue if you’re considering Crucial or their Ballistix range.

I don't care about the details, but the speed is just 2666 and I wanted to upgrade.

2666 works well; selling your existing GPU and purchasing a new one would yield a significantly better boost. With a Z390 motherboard, you can also attempt overclocking your current setup. Reaching 2800 or 3000 typically means you’re maximizing RAM performance on an Intel system.

Gaming performance is mainly affected by CPU and GPU, not RAM speeds. Upgrading RAM isn't a priority unless you're concerned about other components.

After upgrading your GPU, a 3000 or higher would likely provide better performance.

The gap between 2666 and 3200 RAM is just about 5%. It won’t significantly enhance overall speed. For improved gaming performance, consider upgrading your GPU.

Considering an upgrade to a 3060 might be worthwhile, could it be?

It heavily relies on your desired performance goals, particularly the games you play. However, even with high refresh rate gaming, a speed around 3200 will still provide comparable results to 3600, 4000 or faster speeds. If you're keen on boosting RAM, it's best to stay under that limit.

Absolutely! Switching to that GPU will boost performance by over 50%, instead of just a small 5% improvement from adding more RAM.
