CPUs, motherboards, and memory are now handled by CPUs. RAM performance on Intel doesn’t really matter much. The main concern is cost differences between these components.

Wasn't it mentioned in one of Linus's videos that 3200's are ideal? I’d recommend those (I got them myself): https://www.gskill.com/product/165/170/1...GB-(2x8GB)). This would help you, especially since you already have some memory installed. I’d suggest skipping a purchase and consider overclocking instead. Depending on your results, you might not need additional cards to hit the speeds you want.

In my experience, 3200mhz CL14 works well for Skylake chips. I tried 4000mhz CL17 mainly for testing, but it felt similar to 3200mhz CL14. On the other hand, a 9900k with 2666mhz CL15 was noticeably slower than the 3200mhz CL14.
