Best RAM ?
Hello, which RAM setup works best for your Ryzen 5 3600X with those specific motherboard specs? You mentioned two kits at the same price—G.SKILL Trident Z 16GB and G.SKILL Trident Z Neo RGB. Both are great options for your DDR4 3600CL and 4000CL configurations.
I choose the 3600MHz kit since running it at 2000MHz won't achieve the desired 1:1 ratio with the 4000MHz RAM.
For basic XMP activation, use the 3600MHz CL16 unit. To push performance further, try the 4000MHz CL18. Aim for around 3733MHz at 1.5v for optimal results.
3600Mhz is ideal for Zen 2 thanks to the infinity fabric. The FCLK needs to align with your RAM's actual speed, which is half the listed frequency since DDR doubles the date rate. The FCLK typically reaches up to 1800Mhz, though it can be pushed higher to around 1900Mhz or even 1933Mhz depending on the chip. Going beyond 2000Mhz isn't realistic. You might need to lower a 4000Mhz board to about 3800Mhz or run at double speed, which will significantly impact performance. The change between 3600Mhz and 3800Mhz is usually imperceptible, so sticking with 3600Mhz is straightforward and reliable.
I used Trident z neo 2*8gb 3600mhz CL 16 with 16-16-16-36 latency. It should arrive this week. Appreciate the support team!
