Best PSU for i9 with 2080 graphics

Hey everyone! I just upgraded my GPU from a 970 to an RTX 2080, and so far that’s all I’ve done. I also have a 4790k and an 8GB HX Fury. I’m thinking about upgrading my CPU to an i9 9900KF and a Z390PRIME-A with 16GB HyperX Predator @3200. I’m not planning to overclock yet. My current PSU is a 600W Corsair, but I’m not sure if it’s sufficient for my setup. Could you share some advice? How much power should I aim for in my next PSU? Also, my CPU cooler is an NH-D14—does that fit the i9, or should I switch to a full water cooler? Thanks ahead!

600w would suffice, but aim for 80+gold with a 750w PSU or higher (your budget looks generous). Consider Corsair HX series 80+platinum PSUs or EVGA Supernova models. If you skip overclocking, an i9.9900 (non-K) chipset works fine.

If you're not experiencing issues, consider getting a 9900. A Z39 Prime wouldn't be ideal given the powerful chip you have. What Corsair PSU models do you have in mind? A 600W setup seems outdated, so what’s your budget and location for a new one?

I checked my PSU and it's Corsair CP-9020048, 600W, ATX 2.3. I wasn't sure about my setup details. I was wondering if it could support my CPU, RAM, and GPU (RTX 2080) along with a future CPU and RAM. I plan to upgrade later, so right now I just want to confirm it fits my needs for a few months. My budget is around 500-600 lei, roughly 120-150 USD. I also thought about using the Z39 for the CPU, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea.

Sure, here are a couple of options near 650W. The VRM on that model isn't very powerful, so you might need an extra fan if you plan to overclock.

I'll check if you can test your upcoming parts on it for a few months. As for the Z39, it doesn't seem like a strong fit for the CPU based on what you mentioned.

It’s not a good idea to simplify it quickly. You’re overloading the 12V while keeping the 5V low, but the CX600 manages them together—causing the 5V to rise too high.

I notice the G750H, Enigma G2 and DQST are all reasonably priced (all CWT GPS, G750H under Enigma, DQST at a good rate).
