Best Overclocking Settings
Best Overclocking Settings
Hello, I'm looking for the optimal overclock configurations for GPU, CPU, and RAM to run games such as Rise of Tomb Raider and GTA V safely. Could you share your current specifications?
The CPU is fully locked, preventing any overclocking attempts. Memory performance seems limited too, though timing adjustments might offer some improvement. However, boosting memory won't significantly enhance overall speed. Overclocking the GTX 1050 is still possible. Use tools like MSI Afterburner to push the 1050 to its limits, increasing the MHz in small steps until instability appears, then gradually reducing by about 25 MHz. Repeat this process for VRAM and monitor stability.

However, you can still try overclocking your GTX 1050. Use tools like MSI Afterburner to push the 1050 to its limits, increasing the MHz in 50MHz steps until instability appears, then reduce by about 25MHz and perform a stress test for two hours. Repeat the process with VRAM.
Thanks
I discovered my optimal overclocking range for GTA 5, running TR in High and very high settings together.
Core clock @ +115Mhz
Memory clock @ +200Mhz
Max GPU Temp - 70 Degree @ 85%-90% use.
Max CPU temp - 68 Degree @ 90%-92% use.
Seems much better now
The GTX 1050 offers significant overclocking potential compared to other Pascal cards. Your 1050 uses GPU-Z, and you're achieving 500MHz memory clock speed on your 1060.
TechyInAZ shared their experience with the GTX 1050, noting its strong overclocking potential compared to other pascal cards. They asked about the memory type on their 1050 using GPU-Z, mentioning they achieved 500mhz on the memory clock for their 1060. They confirmed the system has 2GB GDDR5 memory and explained that as stability improved and graphics quality increased, they reduced the memory clock to +200Mhz.
Sorry, I'm asking about the type of memory model you're using (such as Samsung or Hynix). You may achieve a higher memory clock speed. Only reduce the memory clock if you've already noticed that frame rate isn't improving.
In fact fps will decrease with GDDR5 OC when its not stable, its ECC which means it downclocks to compensate and not crash.
I dont bother OCing video anymore, not the GPU or memory, performance gain is not worth it unless over 15% increase and I havent had a card do that since a 8800GT. I just stick to CPU and push it till it bleeds
Sorry, I meant which type of memory model do you have? (Samsung, Hynix, etc.)
You could try a higher memory clock speed. Only reduce it if you've noticed FPS not improving.
It seems you're using Samsung memory, as I just checked with GPU-Z and saw GDDR5 (Samsung).
