Considering your Dell Studio Duo 2 with 6GB RAM, Pop OS could work well if you're looking for a lightweight and customizable experience.

The computer serves as my secondary device, mainly used for Visual Studio Code occasionally, watching YouTube, and browsing the web.

PopOS or Zorin 15 seem to be good options. I've been trying them out recently. Simple setup and straightforward tasks.

I've been using Windows 10 for over two years now. It functions well most of the time, though I often have to wait about five minutes after turning it on before it reaches full speed. Even when the system was under heavy load, it still operated smoothly. My main reason for considering a new OS is to enable development on Unix-based systems.

Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Ubuntu MATE, Xubuntu, Kubuntu, Lubuntu perform well on older systems. Each option functions adequately.

Consider trying Manjaro Linux for its excellent performance and customization options with Gnome. You can find more information at their official site: https://manjaro.org/

I encounter a problem with Ubuntu where it starts displaying a purple screen upon booting. I've tried several solutions, but nothing has resolved it. Right now, I'm installing PopOS and want to find out if it works.

I recently set up Pop OS and was impressed by its performance. It makes us wonder why we often discard older computers without giving them a second chance, thinking they’re outdated. Just as old things can be valuable, modern operating systems can revive old PCs. I recall my HP Pavilion facing problems after eight months, yet it still helped me finish assignments and worked well with other old machines. I believe there should be a service that refurbishes old computers and installs updated OSes to bring them back to life.
