Hi everyone, I just upgraded my PC and everything is new—CPU, GPU, PSU, and more. My RAM should be installed soon, maybe next week at the latest. I recently purchased GTA V; originally I had a 4100 FX BLK ED, but it would jump occasionally. After upgrading to an 8320 FX BLK ED with the Wraith cooler, the jumps are less frequent, though not completely stopped. I was curious about the optimal OC settings and wanted to avoid stuttering.

Here are my specs:
- MSI Gaming 970 Mobile
- AMD FX 8320 CPU with Wraith cooler
- MSI RX480 gaming, 8GB RAM (clock speeds uncertain)
- New Corsair CM750 semi-modular PSU
- Looking into overclocking speeds. I’m not very experienced and don’t know much about OC tools. A tutorial on manual overclocking would be really helpful. I can’t use OC Genie because of the RAM, but I plan to upgrade to 16GB Corsair Vengeance with a max of 2133 MHz (the limit my motherboard allows).

I’d appreciate any guidance or a simple step-by-step tutorial. It would help a lot since I’ve read that many people successfully lowered their 8320 to 4.5 MHz without issues. Also, my PC won’t boot properly in certain modes, especially with PC mode enabled, so upgrading RAM is necessary.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Identify the safe voltage levels
Navigate to BIOS and adjust the Vcore/Core to a stable setting (guide available)
Set your frequency to 4.5GHz

I'm sure I'll look into this when I get my new RAM, since I don't see a full bios screen upon boot or if I jump straight to BIOS. I'm guessing the issue is limited to the RAM, as all other parts have been upgraded and it's been working fine for five years. I'll definitely check this out once I have the new RAM installed.
By every component I mean motherboard, GPU, CPU, fans, PSU, and wireless adapter—only the RAM has changed so far.
But as I mentioned, I plan to verify this when I install the new RAM because I want to ensure my constant 4 GHz stays at 4.5 GHz. I read that keeping it at 4.5 helps GTA remain stable with the same GPU setup. My CPU supports up to 5 GHz, thanks again!

I see the graphics card drivers while installing cane with radeon settings. I can adjust voltages and that works, but I’m not sure about changing CPU voltages. I’ll check the guide you received.

You are able to adjust the CPU voltage through the BIOS or using the Intel Xtreme Tuning Utility (download it).

Despite appearing to be an Intel-based tool, it might still work with AMD processors.
