Using the h.something codec would likely utilize the CPU more intensely. That’s why you’re inquiring.

Good, but do you have an extra PC or laptop with a solid CPU? You can configure an RTMP server and use it for streaming. Main PC handles the game and applies NVENC encoding at 20,000 bitrate. The main PC sends a 20,000-bitrate stream over your local network to the RTMP server, which then re-encodes the video to a more Twitch-friendly 3,000 bitrate.

You'd need to construct it yourself using available components. An older Intel Core Quad at 2.5 GHz might work for encoding, but an HD 7850 could also handle encoding tasks.

Use the 980Ti and NVENC with OBS and check the results.

That option might also be viable, though x264 offers better performance at lower bitrates compared to NVENC. With x264 you gain more flexibility, while NVENC typically requires higher bitrates to match quality, often exceeding 3000kbps. Running Linux and utilizing the CPU for encoding with x264 would be a different approach. What is the Intel Core Quad 2.5 model? I’m trying to confirm it.

It refers to the Q8300 processor, a relatively older model.

tested it out 1080 30 works fine, but 1080 "60" drops to 1080 30-60 causing frame loss. It also lowers my framerate to 50 during heavy usage like streaming at 750. I might follow your advice and stick with 1080 30 instead.

Preferably 980ti 1080p at 60fps with a stable connection is 10 up.
