When comparing X570 and B550 models, key differences exist: the X570 provides better IOMMU support, full PCIe 4.0 compatibility, and increased IO options. I’d prefer the Gaming Edge over this option. It costs a bit more, but Taichi offers essentially the full B550 capabilities for just $200. The only practical upgrade you’d likely need is an additional third M.2 slot.
I own the Strix -F and it’s performed well. I also have the Strix XE, which is superior. You’re unlikely to make a mistake—both models have been available for some time, and their BIOS is well-developed, so choosing between them shouldn’t be a big issue. I’m an Asus enthusiast, but I’m mainly into ROG gear. The entry-level options don’t seem to hold up very well.
