what dpi do all players use? i've played at 3600dpi for a long time because my old mouse was that high, but i'm unsure if i should switch to 800, 1200, 1600 or 3600dpi now. my new mouse supports up to 16000dpi.

High DPI often harms your abilities. The experts typically practice by flicking and clicking at lower settings, such as 400-800 or even 200, especially on a smaller mouse pad. A larger pad with ample movement space works well for competitive play when using low DPI.

In my genuine view, the dpi doesn't really matter thanks to the game's mouse sensitivity. I usually use 400 dpi, but in the game with its mouse speed of around 1.5, it might translate to roughly 1200-1600 dpi. It's nice if you can change the dpi and feel it too slow when needed, and then lower it when accuracy is required—this is what I do.

It's easy to figure this out by testing in different environments and seeing what works best. Trying the settings yourself will help ensure your mouse or computer stays stable.

I set it to 2000 for non-gaming and 2200 for gaming.

600 wasn't right for me, 800 felt a bit too high, and 700 seems just perfect. Try it if you want a slightly softer sound.
