I own a setup with a Ryzen 5 2600 and an RTX 2060. The online tools I checked suggested the CPU was causing a clear limitation. Considering a Ryzen 7 3700x might give better performance on the GPU side.
These tools don't make sense. How much would you like to invest in an improvement?
What kinds of games do you enjoy? What is your desired frame rate? And which configurations do you aim for? The RTX 2060 and R5 2600 usually work well together, unless you're pushing for top FPS with minimal graphics quality. If you usually play high-end AAA titles at maximum settings, the 2060 might become the bottleneck.
I was thinking about trying Starfield. I’d prefer medium or high settings, and I enjoy AAA titles like Death Stranding and COD MW2. For a smooth experience, I aim for at least 1080p resolution in medium settings. I’m looking for a balanced gameplay feel in that range. My budget is around $500.
Truly, if you're determined to upgrade and remain on the platform, the only option seems to be pushing it to its limit with a 5800x3d. It's the top gaming chip for AM4.
