Best CPU Cooler out of 4
Best CPU Cooler out of 4
I am assembling another pc this time and I'm using an i3 6100 cpu. I need to purchase an aftermarket cooler and I'm considering these four options:
1) Arctic Freezer i32 CO
2) Be Quiet Pure Rock
3) CoolerMaster Hyper 212X
4) Thermalright TRUE Spirit 120M (BW) Rev.A
The prices are quite similar for all of them (around 33-34 euros). I want to get the best one from these four. I wonder if it's worth spending more money for a better cooler when the budget is the same? 😛
I'm sure all of them are good coolers, but which one should I choose based on your preferences?
Thanasiskant:
I noticed from the review that the pure rock model is slightly cooler than the 212x, so I decided to go with the Be Quiet. Thanks for the assistance.
Indeed, the Be Quiet is a bit cooler, but what truly distinguishes the 212x is its proven track record, reliability, and strong performance. Any of these coolers would suffice, but I prefer something I can trust won’t fail me. That’s why I suggested it.
The 1-2 degree variation can be eliminated if the thermal paste isn't applied properly—either too little or excessively—but hopefully these results come from genuine real-world testing (yes, I actually read the article). On my current build with the Hyper 212 Evo, it performs exceptionally quietly and efficiently. Whatever your comfort level is, you'll appreciate the notable performance boost at lower temperatures with Pure Rock!
The 1-2 degree variation can be avoided if the thermal paste isn’t used properly—either too little or too much—but hopefully these tests reflect real-world conditions (yes, I actually read the article). On my current build with the Hyper 212 Evo, it’s very quiet and highly efficient. Whatever your comfort level is, you’ll appreciate the big performance boost at low temperatures with Pure Rock! You mentioned the difference might be negated, so are you suggesting they used the wrong paste for the 212x and the correct one for Pure Rock? Or what if both were applied incorrectly? 😛 Also, don’t be sarcastic—enjoy the noticeable improvement. It’s not that cooler improves performance; it’s just about getting the best out of your investment. I’m here to ask and learn, not to be rude. Thanks for understanding. Have a great day!
The issue with typing on a screen is that it's hard to tell if you're being sincere or sarcastic. I was actually being genuine when saying good wishes for your choice!
I don't endorse CoolerMaster to promote their products, though I wish I did... (lol)
The difference might change based on how you use the thermal paste—you could try their recommended temperatures, but if you apply it a bit differently, you'll still get similar results to CoolerMaster.
I'm sorry if my reply was misunderstood, but I truly wished you well and hope you succeed!
All the best and please get your delivery soon. 😉

Of course, the Be Quiet is a few degrees lower, and it’s definitely a top-notch cooler. But what makes the 212x stand out is its proven track record, strong reliability, and solid performance. Any of these coolers would work, but I’d just like something I can trust, which is why I suggested it.
Couldn't have expressed it better myself.
The first time I installed the 212 Evo, I was impressed by how well it cooled and was able to push the overclock (which, in turn, boosted performance, even if indirectly).
Thumbs up, Jester Maroc
