It really comes down to your budget. The top choice without custom water cooling is either an EK Predator AIO or a Swiftech H220-X. Beyond that, you can opt for premium air coolers such as the Coolermaster MasterAir Maker 8, which is considered the best available, or the Cryorig R1 Ultimate—though the Noctua NH-D15 seems out of place. Then there are mid-range options like the Cryorig H7, and finally the more basic models such as the Hyper 212 or Cryorig M9i.

I'm sorry, but it seems there was a misunderstanding regarding your vote. However, the high-end coolers you referenced aren't suitable for your setup.

The AIOs are compatible with the radiator mounting, and the Cryorig H7 works as well. The MasterAir Maker 8 is slightly too tall by just a fraction of a millimeter. If the top plate (including the LED logo) can be removed—though I’m not certain about that—I could mount 120mm fans on it successfully.

The AIOs work well (front mounting the radiator), and the Cryorig H7 also fits. The MasterAir Maker 8 is a bit too tall by just .5mm, but if you can remove the top plate (top plate plus LED logo) and mount 120mm fans on it, it would fit. However, I’m looking for something that allows safe overclocking with stable temperatures.

Yes, the AIOs, the MasterAir Maker 8, and the H7 would provide sufficient cooling. Using a Maker 8 or an AIO might allow the CPU to reach 5GHz (based on the processor).

Not really. Leaks are almost as unlikely as a lightning strike destroying your rig if you handle them wisely. Most of the fluids used are non-conductive because distilled water is the main component and the coolant itself isn’t conductive. Sure, the very rare leaks can cause damage, but usually it happens after at least six months since metal particles accumulate enough to make the fluid conductive.

tl;dr Avoid using the AIO as a slingshot; it’s safe. For extra safety, consider CLC models like the EK Predator and Swiftech H220-X, which are built to be more durable and don’t require disassembly.

I suggest you consider an alternative that offers better efficiency and minimizes the risk of leaks compared to your current cooler.

I used the lepa aquachargers (silverstone tundras beneath) to manage my fx-8320 at 4.4ghz with 125w TDP compared to just 88w for the i7-4790K. They’re on sale for $39 with free shipping at Newegg, but don’t overlook their short lifespan.
