I check for threats once a week or every two weeks using MBAM (malware byte anti-malware). Since I’m less exposed, I don’t need constant scans. My system stays active with real-time protection instead.

I don't usually rely on it, but for alternatives you could consider Avast. It's available both free and paid versions.

I've always appreciated AVG. I've used the free version for a long time and it performs well. I've also installed AVG Antivirus, AVG PC Tuneup and AVG Driver updater.
