Hello! I'm working on assembling a router system and need guidance on motherboard and CPU choices. The main focus is dual 8x PCIe slots supporting at least 2.0 speeds. I'm looking for the most affordable option, preferably from the UK used market like eBay or FB marketplace. Power efficiency is more important than raw performance, especially since it'll run OpenSense or similar software. An integrated GPU is nice but not essential. The budget matters a lot here. Any tips or suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Wouldn't it be easier to just obtain something similar? These versions even support 10gbit now.

I’m aiming to build something affordable while keeping it flexible. These parts are pricier than what you’d get for a super budget PC. I already have the case, extra RAM, and storage at a lower cost.

You require just one x1 port for a basic 1G or 2.5G NIC. Two 1G NICs also function in an x1 slot.
