Why would someone choose this? It’s a Wi-Fi hotspot that’s more portable, compact, and packed with features. I personally prefer the Netgear Nighthawk M6.

It manages Ethernet connections, supports tethering, functions as a wireless relay, and can serve as a VPN client. Essentially, it's a compact portable WiFi router. A WiFi hotspot simply connects to a mobile network, while these two items fulfill distinct roles.

Not everyone needs another bill. My current plan includes 4 gigabytes of hotspot data, but hotspots will have limited usage. Plus, there’s a monthly charge for something you might only access a few times a year.

I question whether it offers the same WiFi coverage, speed, or remote performance as a feature-rich device. The main goal of the Beryl appears to be a high-end router in a small form factor. It’s roughly an eighth of the cost compared to similar models. Watching the video left me impressed. They seem to have built a very user-friendly interface on top of OpenWRT, though it can feel clunky when attempting advanced configurations.
