I adjusted the M.2 SSD slightly and the markings look normal. The drive is still running warm, possibly because the heatsink was missing. I bent it back a bit, which seems to have helped, and I’m not sure if it’s safe long-term. I’m concerned about damage or failure.

It seems the issue persists even after bending; don't worry. PCBs hold up very well.

Thanks for your understanding. I'm trying to stay calm since I'm concerned bending it back could cause damage, even though the tests look good. It's reassuring to know PCBs are durable!

Sure, the temperatures could be as high as they are since Lexar is a cost-effective performance brand, probably not very costly.

Avoid doing that again. I once mistakenly pierced a screwdriver into a motherboard, leaving a mess of exposed solder mask. The computer is still working fine.

Personally, it wasn't affordable, though there are pricier alternatives available!

Sure, I understand. The 920 is the quicker Lexar SSD, which could result in higher temperatures compared to its slower counterparts.

They also utilize Chinese controller and NAND chips. Personally, I favor reliable NAND flash from companies such as Micron or Kioxia, along with trusted controllers from firms like Phison. I plan to store data on it, correct?

You might want to use an app to verify disk health. Remember to save your data beforehand!

Of course they are, that's the way they remain affordable, quick, and slightly warm.
