Hi everyone, welcome! I'm trying to figure out a problem with my network setup. I have an ISP router from sagemcom, a us8-60 switch, a uap-ac-pro AP, and a Bellair20e. My Bellair20e works fine, but one client—a Tenda Wi-Fi repeater—can't get its static IP from the DHCP server. It only connects to my UAP when I turn off the 2.4 GHz radio on the Bellair device. The SSID and password are the same for all devices except this repeater. I think there might be a setting I need to change on the Bellair20e to allow the repeater to get its own IP. My phone, PC, and tablet are unaffected. Could anyone help with this issue? Thanks a lot!

@mircvice Just to confirm: Your DVR links to the BelAir through a Tenda wireless repeater? Repeaters usually don’t have built-in IP addresses unless they also support AP mode. They just tap into an existing WiFi network and replay it, often using a different SSID to set them apart from the main signal. If the repeater is in a spot with weak WiFi coverage compared to the main access point, clients might still face issues even if its own signal appears strong. Also, though the SSID and password may match on both devices, do they employ identical encryption methods? And what about the wireless channel? The UAP-AC-Pro operates on WiFi 5, while the BelAir seems to be from WiFi 4. If both devices see the same SSID but have minor configuration differences, it could be the repeater broadcasting incorrect settings that clash with the client’s wireless profile.

Just to confirm: Your DVR links to BelAir through a Tenda wireless repeater? Yes! The device (DVR) connects directly via cable to Tenda. You can modify the broadcasting SSID to use your Tenda repeater. This setup matches both APs (Ubiquiti). The encryption details are: Bellair20 uses WPA2 mixed with PSK, channel 1 UAP AC-Pro, WPA2 on channel 6, Tenda, and WPA/WPA2-PSK (recommended). Channel setting isn't possible. Tenda works well with UAP AC-Pro but not with BellAir. This suggests the issue lies with the configuration from BellAir. The weak signal from UAP AC-Pro is why it needs to connect to BellAir.

I've updated the connection to BellAir again. My Tenda now has its static IP. I can ping it successfully. The DVR shows a 10-second ping or similar, and after that it reports "host unreachable." Something changes once the DVR connects. The devices are: DVR at 192.168.1.60, Tenda at 192.168.1.64, and the BellAir log is available.

I found the issue—it's about ARP filtering. Turning it off lets me ping my DVR and get its IP address, which I can then use. Thanks @Falcon1986 for your assistance!
