Bell Smart Home and LG innotek ADC-W100 issue problems
Hi everyone, Bell set up new IP cameras today using a PoE lg innotek adc-w100. These devices power the cameras over Ethernet and stream video to my router via Wi-Fi. There are four cameras, all placed in the same room and very close to my Bell Home 3000 Router and network switches. I’m wondering why Wi-Fi is being used instead of connecting them directly to Ethernet ports on the switches. The video quality is poor, and loading takes around 30-40 seconds. Also, during a LAN crash last night, I had to restart each device one by one until things stabilized. If anyone knows whether the adc-w100 can connect directly to an Ethernet port instead of relying on Wi-Fi, that would be helpful. Thanks!
Bell integrated IP cameras into my home security setup, which caused several complications as I explained here. They also installed a garage door gateway to control them remotely through my smartphone. This was done by linking the gateway (a Chamberlain or Liftmaster) to another Wi-Fi router and then connecting that router to my primary Wi-Fi router. What’s confusing is why they added an extra router when there are already six Wi-Fi devices in one room. Plus, the IP cameras and Wi-Fi routers together make up a total of ten devices. Instead of using Ethernet cables and a switch, they opted for this setup?
Reach out to Bell to request the removal of the defective product from your premises. Hire a professional security firm to set up equipment that can deliver consistent 1080p 30 fps video feeds, using hardwired connections and secure backup storage both on-site and off-site. Be sure to highlight that the ADC-W100 isn't suitable for video streaming—it only supports single-band Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 b/g/n) and lacks wireless AC or multiple antennas. If you bought it yourself from an alarm company, look for a qualified installer who understands proper hardware selection.
