Beginning your journey in PC gaming is exciting!
Hello everyone, welcome! I'm just starting out with PC gaming and have a few questions about what to expect. My old setup was for a golf simulator, but now I'm shifting to games like FPS and open world titles. I want to know the ideal resolution and frame rates for smooth play. Flight Simulator 2020 should run well too, especially with your current specs. I'm curious about any parts I might need to upgrade for better performance. Thanks for the advice!
This device remains a highly skilled gaming unit. Flight sim 2020 should function properly overall, though possibly not optimally at maximum settings.
It's still impressive what you've got. Having 32 GB of RAM ensures you're well-prepared. Your CPU and GPU should handle most games smoothly at reasonable settings. The power supply looks solid, so upgrading your graphics card is feasible if needed. Storage capacity is solid too, with 2 TB providing enough space for 35-40 medium-sized games. You're all set for the near future.
It should be an excellent 1440p gaming setup. The only area needing improvement is the SSD, as 256GB isn’t very sufficient.
I possess a build that closely matches yours (details available in your profile). It offers lower but quicker RAM with 9700k instead of 8700k, nearly identical performance, though yours supports more threads. The SSD is larger at 1TB. You can handle most games and apps smoothly, except for the latest releases, especially in 1440p ultra. This setup should work well unless you need to run several titles at once; then consider adding more SSD space. Right now I own 15 titles, with the largest being nearly 60GB (CP2077), allowing you to run at least three simultaneously—ideally keep the OS on the SSD for optimal speed.
