Hello, I'm curious about 3D modeling lately. There are many tools available for computers, but I'm looking for a good starting point. Would Blender be suitable? If so, what tips or tutorials could help? Alternatively, are there other programs you'd recommend?

SketchUp is great, Blender works well too, and it's all free.

You could potentially obtain a free full version of 3ds Max by demonstrating you're a student. I earned my license a year ago with that. For tutorials, beginning with 3ds Max is a good idea—Newboston offers a solid beginner guide. You’ll likely discover many other 3ds Max tutorials on YouTube by searching relevant topics.

Blender works fine, but I struggle to complete tasks quickly (maybe it's just me). For students, a free student edition of 3DS Max is more flexible and powerful than Blender. I mainly use Cinema 4D (C4D) because it lets me work fast and subdivision modeling is very smooth there. The only issue is its cost—so I probably won’t buy a legitimate version since it doesn’t fit my profession. Oddly enough, they still lack a built-in GPU renderer, meaning you’d need to render on the CPU or pay for an add-on. I strongly suggest C4D, as there are plenty of tutorials ranging from beginner to advanced. This is something I’m experimenting with now and have limited modeling experience with.

I'm a student, so I'm planning to use 3ds Max because I always take free offers.

Personally employs C4D for modeling and 3DS Max for adding special effects on my edits. That’s it.

Unfortunately, I can't afford the software, but if I could I’d definitely give it a try. Thanks!
