I started looking into this for the first time but have never done it before, so I'm cautious. I'm aiming for 16GB Flare X RAM at its advertised rate of 3200Mhz C14. On an X470 Taichi with a 3700X CPU, the XMP settings can be applied easily in the BIOS, but a BSOD appears during about five minutes of gameplay when using the XMP mode. It doesn't occur when XMP is turned off. The memory slots are A2 and B2. Any advice on what to try next?

Have you explored the DRAM Calculator for Ryzen and Thaiphoon Burner to find suitable settings? If not, consider using them. You may achieve a stable performance with your RAM at 3200 MHz, though it might require slightly adjusted timings and increased voltage.
DRAM Calculator for Ryzen v1.7.3 Download
This tool assists in overclocking memory on AMD Ryzen systems. It recommends reliable timing configurations tailored to your model.

Additionally, perform a RAM check with Memtest86+ after making adjustments.

Overclocking means pushing components beyond their standard limits. You might not reach those speeds. The CPU, motherboard, and DRAM need to back your intended performance. Just because something is labeled 3200 doesn't guarantee it will run that quickly. That's why the "O.C." is included in the specifications. If it was guaranteed, overclocking wouldn't be necessary.

Hi. I just started using them and plan to enter the safe calculations in the BIOS.

Good luck. I combined safe and fast settings to make my RAM work at 3400 MHz with my Ryzen 5 2600 that was upgraded to 4 GHz.

I included all the timing settings except for the CAD Bus Block on the calculator. I didn't have the precise options available (such as setup and strength, unsure which to select), so I chose auto. It worked for a while, but when I was about to mark success in this post, I encountered a BSOD.

It's a disappointment.
You could also experiment with 3000 MHz to check.

Thank you for your assistance. You've provided a solid foundation for grasping this. I reset the memory speed to the default offered by the motherboard, and it will remain that way until I become more familiar with overclocking. It's not necessary to do this right away, just thought it would be helpful. I upgraded directly from Sandy Bridge to this configuration and don't feel any shortfall in speed at the moment.

I made the choice myself by trying different settings during the OC process. Don't forget to run Memtest86+ to confirm the stability of your RAM after the change.
