Beginner in overclocking (can't reach 4.1Mhz!!!)
Hello everyone, welcome to the new year 2021. I'm trying to customize my CPU but I'm completely unsure about how it all works. Here are my details:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
RAM: Crucial BLS8G4D32AESBK.M8FE1 2x8GB
Motherboard: Asrock B450 Pro4
GPU: Radeon 5700 XT Sapphire Nitro +
OS SSD: PCIe 512GB
I managed to set the MHz in BIOS to 4000MHz, but after switching to 4.1 it works fine until it crashes. Then it won't boot Windows at all, the fan slows down and then speeds up again. I'm not sure what to adjust or how much voltage change is needed. Thanks for your help!
The 3600 is 18% faster at gaming anyway, and, the 5600X is another 18-19% faster....
On the positive side, you have more than enough CPU to 98% saturate a 5700XT anyway....
Once you upgrade GPUs, then perhaps the 5600X supply situation will have improved (we hope)
GOod luck!
Hey there!
I have the same issue with my Amd Ryzen 7 2700x...

My max speed is 4.15Ghz
I switched vCore to 1.4, sometimes 1.45 (just to see if it helps, example
Enable CPU Ration 42/43
Changed OC Voltage Level to level 4 or higher!
Disabled voltage/power savers for the CPU, motherboard of course auto disables core performance boost!
Overclocked RAM as well! 3200Mhz or 3600Mhz with cl18.
Nothing worked!
Also watched 3 YouTube videos on how to overclock my CPU, but it didn’t help!
Maybe someone can assist

Thanks for reading, I accept the help here on this Forum!
But the main issue is still the question from
@badbob099
Of course, let him try first!
Your ability to overclock mainly depends on the chance of obtaining a quality chip.
Ryzen categorizes its chips, with superior ones appearing in higher-end models that fetch better prices.
The product is generally designed to operate at peak performance right out of the box.
Attempting to overclock Ryzen is rarely effective.
