It seems Steam is running a big Activision promotion this weekend with many Call Of Duty games available. I haven’t played any of these titles before, so I’m wondering if they’re worth trying. There’s a lot of chatter about COD players online and some negative feelings toward the series. Should I give it a shot? —Mvard

Do you care about your cash? Yes, then leave it alone; if not, go ahead and spend it—buy me the DS3 now!

I don't like it since it represents constant yearly updates.

The issue lies with the current COD versions, as their modern warfare 1 and 2 contain many hacker elements. You can effectively engage them only in private matches.

I prefer the earlier titles, such as World At War, Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2. Modern Warfare 3 was fine, though. Honestly, after Modern Warfare 2 things really declined.

I enjoyed Advanced Warfare, especially the storytelling. COD4 was quite strong; the visuals were top-notch in a game. The only issue was that I repeatedly died in that segment.

The game retains a strong zombie fanbase with an active community. Custom maps and mods help keep the experience engaging over time.

For thrill-seekers who enjoy fast-paced action with wall-running and jet packs, grab a copy. Those who favor strategy might skip CoD and try Rainbow Six: Siege instead, which is also available this weekend.
